DOWAGIAC — Cristian Wilson scored six goals as Dowagiac improved to 6-3 on the year with a 7-0 win over visiting Parchment in non-conference soccer Thursday.
Wilson had all three first-half goals for the Chieftains. He scored in the 23rd, 37th and 40th minutes.
Ben McCrorey assisted on Wilson’s second goal.
In the final 40 minutes, Wilson scored the first two goals in the 45th and 46th minutes, and then the final goal of the match in the 64th minute.
Jose Carrillo had the other second-half goal off an assist by Matt Mosier in the 55th minute.
Gustavo Cruz assisted on Wilson’s final goal.
“As you can see, Cristian Wilson had a great day of attacking the goal and finishing,” said Dowagiac coach Mike Williams. “Not only did we finish well, but the whole team moved the ball well and fed great thru balls to our forwards and outside mids as well. I am very happy with the way our center mids (Jose Carrillo, Isaac Saavedra and Ben McCrorey) played throughout the whole game.”
Dowagiac is back on the pitch Tuesday as it travels to Niles to take on Brandywine in another non-conference match.
Play is slated to begin at 5 p.m.
