NILES — The “Friends of Silverbrook” along with the Niles City Council’s Veterans Ultimate Sacrifice Committee are looking for the assistance for prospective Eagle Scout Adam Wozniak.

Those who may have family from Niles that died in the Civil War are asked to submit their name so that Wozniak can help to recognize them. People can do so by contacting city council member Tim Skalla at (269) 362-3142 or Candace Skalla at candace74@hotmail.com.

So far, the names of 104 Niles veterans have been collected for the project. With the names, Wozniak is hoping to put them on a cross and display them in front of City Hall twice a year. Those interested can also make a donation to the cause through the contacts listed above.

“I am sure than Niles fallen heroes and their families will appreciate this,” Tim said.
