Rangers offense explodes in 77-0 win over Bangor

CASSOPOLIS — A 42-point opening quarter allowed host Cassopolis to cruise to a 77-0 win over Bangor in the 2018 season and Southwest 10 Conference opener for both schools.

Tyres Hunt-Thompson rushed for a touchdown, caught a pass for a touchdown and returned a punt for a score.

The Rangers (1-0) finished with 324 yards of total offense, including 196 yards on the ground.

Owen Gardner led the ground game with 62 yards on three carries and a pair of touchdowns.

Dylan Green was 2-of-3 for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Green connected with Hunt-Thompson for a 48-yard score before hitting Braydon Saxton with a 40-yard touchdown toss.

Cerious Wilson was 1-of-1 throwing the football as he connected with Gage Collins for a 16-yard touchdown.

Special teams and defense contributed to the scoring column with a second punt return for a score by Mason Polomcak and a safety by Skyler McKee.

The Rangers held Bangor to minus 44 yards of total offense.

Cassopolis will host Decatur Thursday night at 7 p.m.
