NILES — The Niles District Library announced the names of their writing contest winners on Monday. Winners will receive three tickets to the Poet Laureate event at St. Mary’s College and a $10 Amazon gift card. Honorable mentions will receive one ticket to the Poet Laureate event.

The winners include:

• Adult: David Hollister — “The Farthest Land”

• Miniature Literature: Jennifer Payne — “Adriatic Crossing”

• Teen: Penny Duran — “Damsel in a Bell Tower”

• Picture Book: Delanie Dutoi — “The Baby With No Name”

• Screenplay: Angelika Anderson — “Lena”

• Songwriting: Adriana Maxwell — “I Want Your Life to be a Song”

• Youth: Kamryn Smith – “Prologue”

Honorable Mentions:

• Elizabeth Benjamin — “Observations in a Laundromat”

• Emma Williams — “No, Not Again!”

• Cassandra Shortman — “Vicious Beast”

• Megan Davis — “Mend”

Over the next several editions, the Niles Daily Star will run the submissions of the writing contest winners.
