DOWAGIAC — Classic vehicles of all makes and models from across Michiana will travel to Dowagiac Saturday for the annual Rod & Roll Classic Auto Show of the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce.

Now in its 28th year, participants have characterized Dowagiac’s classic auto show as one of the most popular due to its staging within this community’s quaint central business district. The business community closes off its main road, welcoming auto owners to park their show vehicles right outside their shops and restaurants.

Businesses up and down Front Street host in-store games for auto owners, showering them with door prizes throughout the day, against a backdrop of classic hits from the 1960s and ‘70s.  The registration tent opens at 7 a.m. on Commercial Street, where new arrivals can sign up for the event for $20. The show is open to onlookers free of charge. The Annual Trophy Ride reves up at 2 p.m., which brings the one-day event to a close at 3.
