Swinging for a Good Cause

Dozens of golfers tees off Sunday to support the Brian Parker Memorial Foundation, a Niles-based not-for-profit dedicated to raising money for local families facing cancer battles, and research and education on the subject.

Parker was a Niles student who died of cancer in 1980 at the age of 14. Each year, athletic teams and various other organizations in the greater Niles area host fundraisers for the cause, which donates the money back to the community in the form of scholarships and donations to cancer patients and cancer research.

The 36th annual golf outing was played at Indian Lake Hills Golf Course in Eau Claire under sunny skies.
