HOWARD TOWNSHIP — The Howard Branch of the Cass District Library will host a Math Scoops Ice Cream Math Club which will begin Aug. 6 and end Sept. 1. This program is designed for children in pre-school through sixth grade.

Children participate by completing a math worksheets packet that they get from the library upon registering for the club. They can choose to complete a packet from the grade they finished in spring or challenge themselves to complete a packet for the grade they will be entering in the fall.

Once the packet is complete, children simply return it to the library to receive an ice cream treat or ice cream coupon as a reward. Those interested can contact their local library branch for more information.

The Howard Branch of the Cass District Library is located at 2341 Yankee St. in Niles. Library branch locations, contact information, and more can be found on the library’s website at cass.lib.mi.us.

The Howard Branch will also host an activity called Marimbamania!

This is a unique, culturally based interactive presentation of music and marimbas from around the world.

This music program will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at the Howard Branch Library. There will also be a performance at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, at Edwardsburg Branch.

This activity is appropriate for all ages. Audiences participate throughout with singing, clapping, dancing and a question and answer session. This program is free and open to the public.
