Niles woman injured in two-car crash Wednesday

NILES — A person sustained minor injuries following a two-car crash Wednesday morning in Milton Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident occurred around 8:21 a.m. accident on U.S.-12 and the Bell Road intersection.
According to police, an on-scene investigation shows that 40-year-old, Jessica Mark, of Niles, was waiting for traffic to clear at the intersection to turn left on to Bell Road when the second vehicle driven by Brianna Thompson, 27, of Niles pulled out on to U.S.-12 from Bell Road not seeing the other vehicle.
When Thompson pulled out from Bell Road on to U.S.-12 both vehicles then collided, police said. Mark sustained minor injuries in the crash and was transported to South Bend Memorial for treatment by SMCAS Ambulance. Thompson was uninjured in the crash. Seatbelts were worn.
Deputies were assisted on scene by SMCAS Ambulance.
