Two vehicle crash ends in a pursuit of runaway driver

Two vehicles were involved in a crash, and it was found to be a rear end collision, which no one was seriously injured yesterday at 7:41 p.m. on US-12 near Conrad Road in Milton Twp. According to Sheriff Richard Behnke of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, tne of the drivers, a 26-year-old Niles resident, drove away from the scene when officers arrived.
Police pursued this driver until the vehicle crashed on Dailey Rd near Jefferson Center Rd. The driver was placed under arrest. The suspect was transported by LifeCare ambulance to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for possible injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this crash. This incident is still under investigation at this time. The driver’s name is being withheld at this time pending results of the investigation.
The other driver, a David Eugene Dale 47-year-old Niles, was not injured in this crash.
