Custom Computer Company to host grand reopening

NILES — Custom Computer Company will celebrate its reopening on Thursday, July 12, with the community that helped it reopen its doors.

The business was left completely destroyed in the wake of the historic flooding of the St. Joseph River in February, and has spent months working to recover and rebuild so that they may open their doors to the greater Niles community.

During the three-month rehab of the building, the business transformed the interior of the building to resemble more of a cyber café, as well as an improved virtual reality room and customer service area.

The reopening was made possible in part by insurance payments, but also through community donations garnered by a Go Fund Me account. Community members also volunteered labor to assist in the rehabilitation process.

Businesses Honor Credit Union and Abonmarche donated upgraded computers and servers to help replace some of the machines lost during the flood.

The business offers computer repair services, as well as a space for youth to utilize computers in a safe space.

The ribbon cutting will feature a hog roast and begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the business, located at 603 N. Second St. in Niles. The Niles community is invited to network with Custom Computer Company, enjoy food, and congratulate Michael Reed and his team for the recovery of his business.
