EDWARDSBURG — Blaire Topash-Caldwell, archivist with the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi Indians in Dowagiac, will speak at the Edwardsburg Area Historical Museum at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 21. She will discuss mound building and historical Potawatomi villages near Edwardsburg, as well as the Indian nation’s continued presence and cultural ties in the area. She also will highlight how traditional tribal properties in Michiana relate to the Pokagon’s culture, sense of place, and homeland.

There is no admission charge.

Her speaking engagement is part of the museum’s focus on “Our Native American Culture,” an exhibit that runs through Sunday, Aug. 20, which is the date of the Edwardsburg All-School Reunion. A museum open house will be hosted immediately following the reunion in celebration of the non-profit organization’s 20th anniversary.
