DOWAGIAC — The Beckwith Theatre Company will hold auditions for its 2018 Summer Youth Theatre Production, the comedy-mystery “No Body to Murder” by Edith Weiss, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 and Thursday, June 14.

Open to all middle to high school aged students, roles are available for up to 20 actors, plus stage management, crew, tech and other backstage personnel. It is free to participate.

Rehearsals will run from 1 to 4 p.m. June 18–27. The rehearsal on Wednesday, June 27 includes rehearsal and performance and will take place from 1 to 7 p.m.

Performance dates are at 7 p.m. on June 27 and 28.

Auditions, rehearsals and performances will take place at the Beckwith Theatre, 100 New York Ave., Dowagiac.

The play follows a story of bad news — in the form of severe thunderstorms and an escaped convict — that threatens the guests at the Come On Inn of Nova Scotia. By the end of the day, a guest is mysteriously murdered during a power outage.

As the winds howl, suspicions rage. The play asks the question: who would have the audacity to commit murder under so many noses? “No Body to Murder” is full of zany characters, hilarious stage action and a surprise ending, said play organizers.

Roles are available for six men, 12 women. There are an additional two roles that can be either gender.
