Hero Haul raises $4, 000

EDWARDSBURG — The members of the Edwardsburg Presbyterian Church say they would like to thank the community for the support the Hero Haul, which took place over Memorial Day weekend.

The money collected from the drive will be spent on additional personal care items to help veterans. Members of the church estimate that the total value of both cash and personal care donations is around $4,000. Donated items were sent to the Battle Creek VA Medical Center.

Items donated include 127 pairs of socks, 76 t-shirts, 113 tubes of toothpaste, 93 toothbrushes, 71 containers of shampoo and 70 sticks or cans of deodorant.

Some of the donations will also be taken to the Veterans Center in Mishawaka.

Event organizers plan to host the Hero Haul again next year on Memorial Day.
