NEWBERG TWP. — The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported that two were injured in a motorcycle crash Saturday.

Deputies responded to the scene at 5:06 p.m. Saturday on Dutch Settlement near Skyhawk Drive in Newberg Township. Initial investigation shows that motorcycle driver Jacob Hampton, 37, and his passenger Jayme Lynn Hampton, 37, both of Marcellus, were travelling west bound on Dutch Settlement when Jacob Hampton saw a farm tractor, driven by Johannes Christian DuPlessis, 26, of Schoolcraft, pulling an oversized farm implement coming around the curve. Jacob Hampton went off the roadway to avoid hitting the implement and lost control of his motocycle in the gravel.

The Hamptons were transported for non-life threating injuries to Three Rivers Hospital. Helmets were not worn.

Deputies were assisted on scene by Newberg Ambulance and Marcellus Ambulance.
