BUCHANAN — Erica Mitchell scored a pair of goals as host Buchanan blanked arch rival Brandywine 4-0 in a BCS Athletic Conference soccer match.

Also scoring for the Bucks were Oliva Riddle and Cora Schau.

Brandywine’s Gabby Inman was credited with 27 saves.

“My defense played really hard,” said Brandywine coach Kaitlyn Kovac. “Gabby Inman had an excellent game despite the score of the game. We are struggling offensively. We only had three shots on goal, so as you can imagine, my defense had to work really hard. Rachel Laurita and Taylor Derscha played really tough against their offensive forces.”

Brandywine has wrapped up its regular season and will host Cassopolis Tuesday.

Leandra Vendslfe and Lizzy Congdon split time between the pipes for Paw Paw.

“The girls played hard tonight, but they were a little sluggish,” said Dowagiac coach Chad Davis. “We seem to be a few steps behind, but the important thing is we stayed together as a team.”
