DOWAGIAC — For the fifth year in a row, the Young Professionals of Greater Dowagiac are hoping to light up the skies.
The young professionals are currently seeking donations to put on a festive firework display on Friday, June 29, near the airport, something the group has been doing for the past four years.
Though fundraising by the group covers a portion of the costs, members are still asking the community to make contributions. Members said they are grateful for all the support the community has given the young professionals and the firework display, as it makes the event possible.
The Young Professionals of Greater Dowagiac is a nonprofit group founded in 2015 with the goal of making the community a better place to live, work and play. Members live and work in Dowagiac and are committed to the area, group officials said.
Between now and the end of June, the group will take donations to carry on the tradition of the firework display. All donors will be recognized at different levels for their contributions.
