Dowagiac settles for 2-2 draw with Comstock

DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac soccer team snapped a four-match losing streak by tying visiting Comstock 2-2 Friday night.

The Chieftains got goals from Anayda Lucio and Thalia Lara to earn the draw.

“The girls finally settled in tonight we moved multiple players around and girls played various positions,” said Dowagiac coach Chad Davis. “With that being said, I thought they did a great job tonight of working as a team, no matter who was on the field with them they came together and played hard. The future looks bright for Dowagiac girls soccer. I can’t wait to see how we grow as a team.”

Dowagiac got off nine shots against the Colts.

Freshman goalkeeper Kaylah Contreras was credited with 14 saves.

 

Niles soccer

  1. JOSEPH — Visiting Niles dropped a 6-0 SMAC West Division decision to St. Joseph Friday.

The Vikings were outshot 20-0 by the Bears. Avyion James finished with 14 saves for Niles.

 

Brandywine soccer

COLOMA — Visiting Brandywine was shutout by the Comets 8-0 in a non-conference match Thursday.

The Bobcats were outshot by Coloma 12-0.

 

Edwardsburg soccer

PAW PAW — Visiting Edwardsburg had to settle for a 3-3 draw with Wolverine Conference foe Paw Paw Thursday.

The Eddies (3-4-1, 0-3-1 Wolverine) got a pair of goals from Hannah Cole.

Ashley Low scored the other goal off an assist from Claire Bartz.

 

Cassopolis soccer

BENTON HARBOR — Angel Gary scored the lone goal as visiting Cassopolis dropped a 5-1 decision to Lake Michigan Catholic Thursday.

The Lakers outshot the Rangers 10-5. Madison Suseland had five saves.
