DOWAGIAC — The Dowagiac tennis team was blanked 8-0 by visiting South Haven in its season and Wolverine Conference opener Wednesday.

The most competitive match of the day for the Chieftains came at No. 1 doubles where Maddison Hill and Justice Garrelts were defeated by Stephanie Rosas and Alexis Ridley 6-4, 5-7 and 6-2.

Dowagiac (0-1, 0-1 Wolverine) was back in action Friday when it travels to the South Shore Racquet Club in St. Joseph to face Lake Michigan Catholic.
