Patricia Joan Mallo, 82, of Cassopolis, died peacefully Friday, March 9, 2018, in the comfort of her family’s presence in Lakeland Hospital, Niles.
She was born Aug. 28, 1935, in Penn Township, Michigan, the middle child born to Francis and Ruth Hartsell. She married Clare Lee Mallo Aug. 6, 1954, in Penn Township after a whirlwind romance of three months. He preceded her in death Dec. 9, 2016, after 62 years of marriage.
Patricia contributed to the Cassopolis community over the years through various positions. She was employed by Fruit Belt Electric, Cassopolis Oil Company and Cass County Medical Care Facility. Patricia also served as village clerk for several years. She will be greatly missed by many.
Patricia always valued the time she was able to spend with her family and friends. She had the ability to always light up a room with her intelligence and stunning smile. Patricia had a passion for crafting and was immensely talented in crocheting, knitting, and sewing.
Patricia will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Buffy) Mallo of Three Rivers and Brent (Victoria) Mallo of Loudon, Tennessee, one daughter, Keli Green of Cassopolis; numerous grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren; two brothers Dale (Alene) Hartsell and Larry Hartsell, both of Cassopolis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was preceded in death by one sister in law, Katha Hartsell, and one brother in law, Howard Scott.
Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018, for a graveside service in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Penn Township, Michigan.
