Two Hartford men injured in head-on collision

BAINBRIDGE TOWNSHIP — Two people were injured in a head-on collision Saturday evening on  Territorial Road just west of Arent Road in Bainbridge Township, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers were called to the serious injury accident at 6:48 p.m. Police determined that Todd Kietzer, 58, of Hartford, had been travelling east bound in the west bound lane of Territorial Road.  His vehicle struck another vehicle head on that was west bound.  The second vehicle was driven by Paul Perez, 57, also of Hartford.

Perez was taken to Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan in fair condition by Pride Care Ambulance.  Kietzer was flown to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo in serious condition by Med Flight.

The following agencies responded to the scene: Berrien County Sheriff’s Department, Berrien County Accident Investigation Team, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, Sister Lakes Fire Department and Pride Care Ambulance.

This accident is still under investigation by the Berrien County Accident Investigation Team and further information will be released at a later time.
