Multiple arrested for allegedly trafficking crack cocaine

BENTON TOWNSHIP — Several Benton Township men were arrested last week in connection with an illegal narcotics investigation spurred SWET-West detectives.
On March 21, SWET-West detectives along with members of the Berrien County Sheriff Department Road patrol and Berrien County TRU Team executed a search warrant for illegal narcotics at 1293 Parkway, in Benton Township.
This search warrant was a result of an ongoing investigation into the sale and distribution of crack cocaine. SWET-West Detectives seized crack cocaine that was packaged for sale and distribution, a stolen handgun, and other items related to the distribution of narcotics.
The following men were arrested in connection with the investigation:
• Sylvester Davis III, 34, was arrested and lodged at Berrien County Jail on nine narcotics delivery charges, and other weapons offences.
• Leonard Robinson, 39, was also arrested and lodged at Berrien County jail on tether and bond violations from unrelated drug charges.
• On March 20, SWET- West detectives along with Berrien County Road Patrol arrested Kennion Williams, 31, for delivery of heroin and resisting and obstructing police.
• On March 22, SWET-West detectives along with Berrien County Road Patrol arrested Michael Talbert, 47, from Chicago, on several charges of delivery of crack cocaine following a three- week investigation.
The Southwest Enforcement Team is comprised of sworn law enforcement personnel from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Barry County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, Kalamazoo Township Police Department, South Haven Police Department, Covert Police Department and the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.
