Two injured in rollover crash in Howard Township

HOWARD TOWNSHIP — A Niles man was injured in a rollover crash Saturday evening in Howard Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were called to the crash on M-60 near Reum Street at 8:43 p.m. Saturday when Shawn Hoover, 34, of Niles, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to roll over after going through the culvert dividing M-60.

Hoover and his passenger, David Crespo, 58, of Niles, were transported by EMS to South Bend Memorial Hospital for their injuries.

Seatbelts were worn during the crash. Alcohol was believed to be a factor.

Michigan State Police, Niles Township Fire and SMCAS Ambulance assisted in the accident.
