EDWARDSBURG — Chief Douglas Westrick of the Ontwa Township Edwardsburg Police Department reports that at 7:05 a.m. on Tuesday, March 13 officers responded to the area of US-12 and Cass Street for a hit-and-run injury accident.

Initial investigation indicates that Brandon Pickens, 17, of Edwardsburg, was believed to be westbound on US-12 when struck by an unidentified vehicle traveling in an unknown direction. He walked to a nearby residence to call 911.

Pickens was transported via Edwardsburg Ambulance Service to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.
