Woman arrested for possession of methamphetamine

CASSOPOLIS — A woman was arrested in Cassopolis for possession of methamphetamine Monday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Monday, the Cass County Drug Enforcement Team assisted the Cass County Sheriff’s Office with a suspicious situation in the 66000 block of Kessington Street in Cassopolis.
While detectives were on scene, they made contact with a 41-year-old woman that was driving a van in the area of the situation. It was determined that the woman was in the area to pick up a male suspect. The male suspect fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival and was unable to be located.
During the investigation, methamphetamine and needles were found in the van.
The woman was arrested and lodged at the Cass County Jail for charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving without a license. She is awaiting arraignment in the fourth district court.
