MILTON TOWNSHIP — Cass County’s Equalization Department and Milton Township will host a property tax workshop at 7 p.m. March 7, at the Milton Township Hall located at 32097 Bertrand St.

Michigan residents are encouraged to attend this free workshop. The workshop will cover how assessments are calculated in the state of Michigan and how these assessments are used to calculate property taxes. Also covered will be how to work with an assessor to correct errors to property assessments and how to challenge property assessments through the appeal processes.

Michigan property owners can appeal property assessments through their respective board of review only during the week of March 12. This workshop will help prepare property owners through this appeal process.

Various Michigan township assessors and the Cass County Equalization Director will be available during and after the workshop to answer questions.
