NILES — After rapidly melting snow pack and heavy rainfall caused the St. Joseph River to flood into Michiana streets, homes and businesses, a group of Brandywine students found a way to help victims.
The Brandywine Key Club prepared 325 kits with various supplies to donate to victims displaced by the flood. The kits were assembled Friday and delivered to the Niles Salvation Army. The Salvation Army will deliver the kits to people displaced by the flood.
The kits include toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss donated by the Cassopolis Family Dental Clinic, water donated by Walmart in Niles, and gum donated by the Key Club.
The dental packets were donated to the students, who donated the packets back to the Key Club to give to those in need following the natural disaster.
