Upton to meet with Niles leaders to discuss Indeck Energy Center

NILES — U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, (R-St. Joseph) will meet with local leaders in Niles Monday to discuss final steps for the Indeck Niles Energy Center project.
Upton will visit the project’s location at 3:30 p.m. at 2100 Progressive Dr.
“The Indeck Niles Energy Center project would bring affordable energy, economic growth, and jobs to Niles,” Upton said. “It’s important to hear from the major stakeholders about their long-term vision for this project. I’m looking forward to being in Niles on Monday to discuss what we need to do to make this project a reality.”
Also planning to attend the event are Niles Mayor Nick Shelton; City of Niles Utilities Manager Jeff Dunlap; Niles attorney Robert Landgraf; Niles acting administrator Jim Millin; Indeck Vice President of Business Development David Hicks; Indeck counsel Brennen Keene; and Amtrak Chief of State Government Relations Ray Lang.
