BENTON HARBOR — Food on the table three times a day is a choice most Americans take for granted. But some in Berrien and Cass Counties don’t always have enough to eat.
At noon on Feb. 21, League of Women Voters of Berrien and Cass Counties member Linda Strohl will focus on hunger in our area. The event will take place at the Berrien County Health Department, 2149 E. Napier Ave., Benton Harbor.
Strohl will discuss who hunger impacts, how it is being addressed now, and current funding issues (including governmental sources).
Strohl serves as the executive director of Senior Nutrition Services/Meals on Wheels of Southwest Michigan and she is a member of the Berrien County Board of Health.
All members of LWVBCC and interested people who are not members, as well, are encouraged to attend. A soup and sandwich lunch is being offered and reservations are required.
Attendees must register no later than noon, Tuesday, Feb. 13. Reservations may be made by phone (269) 471-1393, or text (269) 362-1871, or email klawiter@hughes.net. Cost is $9.50 and must be paid at the door. Cash or check will be accepted.
