WHITE PIGEON — The Cassopolis basketball team remained undefeated with a 76-47 win over host White Pigeon Tuesday night.
After struggling in the fourth quarter against Decatur in its previous Southwest 10 Conference contest, the Rangers were not about to let that happen again.
Cassopolis (10-0, 8-0 Southwest 10) outscored the Chiefs (2-9, 2-7 Southwest 10) 27-9 in the final eight minutes to pull away to the easy victory.
The Rangers led 17-11 after one and 34-26 at halftime.
Cassopolis took an 11-point lead (49-38) into the fourth quarter.
“We played hard and we played good defense,” Evans said. “They made a run in the third quarter. I was proud of the way we kept our composure and put the game out of reach. I thought we move the ball well on offense and got a lot of fast break baskets. Overall, I happy with our performance.”
Cassopolis had four players in double figures, led by Xander Smith’s 15 points.
Kiambu Gary and Tyrese Hunt-Thompson both finished with 13 points and Darrion Gatson 10.
Stone Kemp led White Pigeon with 12 points. Carter Grant added 11.
