BENTON HARBOR — The wins keep piling up for the Brandywine girls basketball team.

Behind a game-high 20 points from Nicole Sachman, the Bobcats won their ninth consecutive game with a 56-31 victory over host Benton Harbor Tuesday.

Brandywine (10-1) got off to a fast start with a 14-6 first quarter lead, which it increased to 24-12 by intermission.

“The effort was better tonight than it has been in the last few games since break,” Brandywine coach Josh Hood said. “I am proud of the girls and the commitment they made to improve their energy level from previous games.”

Hood knows that there are still plenty of tough games ahead, including Friday night’s game against BCS Athletic Conference Red Division champion Comstock.

“We have a long way to go and look forward to Friday night’s game at Comstock, who has beaten us three times in a row and embarrassed us this year in game two.”

Besides Sachman, the Bobcats got 13 points from Zikayyah Abdullah and six points from Malikiyyah Abdullah.
