Bob was a constant worker, never standing still for a very long time, if at all. Upon moving to Michigan, he drove truck and delivered mobile homes, which he loved. Later he changed to being an auto mechanic for many years and finally moved into working on/repairing small engines for lawn equipment. Even after retirement, Bob never really retired as he continued his work from his garage. Bob had a love for lawn mowers as he had 7 of his own, pride and joys they were to him. Bob had a passion for two main hobbies, one was his friends and customers, in which he could stand around for hours if possible just talking and enjoying their company. Bob’s other main passion was NASCAR and his favorite drivers were Dale Earnhart Sr. & Jr. He loved watching races and both him and Barb went to many races as well. His favorite raceway was Michigan International Raceway.
Per Bob’s wishes, his body has been cremated. A Memorial Gathering will take place at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main St., Edwardsburg, where family and friends may gather one hour before the service. The service will be a time for anyone to share fond memories or stories about Bob. There will be no graveside services as he will be taken home to be cherished by his family. At a later date, some of his ashes will be taken, along with a can of Miller Light, up to Michigan International Raceway for one last go around!
