CASSOPOLIS — The Cass Area Artists will resume its art classes at the Cass District Library beginning next week.
This six-week series will focus on painting with acrylics. Classes will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday evenings, at the main branch of the Cass District Library, 319 M-62 N., Cassopolis.
The series will begin on Monday and will meet through Feb. 12.
There is no pre-registration required. Drop-ins are welcome each week. The cost is $12 per person, per class.
Students will be working at various levels, from beginner to advanced.
Each session will begin with a discussion, after which a project will be outlined, and students may work on their canvas. The object is for each person to find their own personal style, and create original art works.
Students will study from life, photos and imagination. At the end of each class, there will be a group critique.
Participants need to bring the following supplies:
• Canvas stretched on wooden bars
• Acrylic paints (red, yellow, blue, white, black, burnt sienna)
• Brushes, smooth texture (variety of sizes, at least five)
• Water container
• Rag
• Easel (optional)
The art classes are presented by The Cass Area Artists Education Program.
