Winter weather advisory in effect through Friday

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory through Friday morning for Berrien and Cass counties.
Between 3 to 5 inches of snow is forecast to fall throughout the day Thursday, with the high temperature expected to be around 14 degrees. A north wind is predicted to blow between 10 to 15 miles per hour. Snow is expected to continue to fall Thursday night, with another 2 to 4 inches of snow accumulation expected.
On Friday, there will be an 80 percent chance of snow showers, with an additional 1 to 2 inches of snow expected and a high temperature near 12 degrees.
The National Weather Service has advised that travel could become very difficult to impossible, including during the morning and evening commutes on Thursday. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 16 inches, with localized amounts up to 20 inches, are expected throughout the winter weather advisory.
