BUCHANAN — The Buchanan Area Senior Center is located at 810 Rynearson St. in Buchanan.

Wednesday, Jan. 3

• Memory Care Support: Caring Circle leads a monthly support group at 1 p.m. Wednesday for caregivers of dementia patients.

Friday, Jan. 5

• Cash bingo: Cash bingo is takes place at 1 p.m. on the first and third Fridays of each month.

Tuesday, Jan. 9

Shadow Steppers: This monthly grief support group is led by Caring Circle from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9. This is an open-ended support group, so those interested may start and stop attending whenever they choose.

Wednesday, Jan. 10

• Potluck/bingo: The senior center hosts potluck and bingo at noon on the second Wednesday of each month. This month’s potluck will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10.

Thursday, Jan. 11

• Pamper Your Feet: This monthly foot clinic is provided by Lakeland Hospital, the second Thursday of the month. This month’s foot clinic will take place at 9 a.m. Jan. 11.

The first appointment will cost $30. Participants will be given a foot basin and other supplies which  must be brought to each appointment, along with a towel. Individuals may bring their own lotion, if they choose. All subsequent appointments will cost $25. This is not covered under any insurance. Those interested are advised to call and schedule an appointment at (269) 695-7119.

Tuesday, Jan. 16

• Chair Massage: Chair Massage is offered by Helen Keeler from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 16. Those interested are asked to sign up at the front desk.

• Hearing aid checks: Dr. Michelle Ridenour from West Michigan Hearing Specialists, will conduct hearing aid tests from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16. He will check ears for wax, clean hearing aids, and answer questions.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

• Clark salaried retirees meet: The Clark salaried retirees will meet at the Senior Center the at noon Wednesday, Jan. 17. The Senior Nutrition Services will offer lunch, which will be followed by a speaker, which is open to the public.

• Root beer floats: Residents are invited to enjoy a root beer float at 12:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday, Jan. 17. The event is sponsored by Chalet of Niles.

Thursday, Jan. 18

• Book club: Residents are welcome to join the book club at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18. This event takes place on the third Thursday of the month.

Wednesday, Jan. 24

• Birthday bingo: The birthday bingo will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24. To celebrate

January birthdays there will be cake and ice cream from Riveridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare

of Niles.

Friday, Jan. 26

• Lunch Brunch Club: The Lunch Bunch Club meets on the fourth Friday of the month at a restaurant for lunch and socialization. Residents can meet at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26, at the senior center to carpool, or those interested can meet the group at the Hilltop Café, 708 E. Front St. in Buchanan. Those who wish to attend are asked to sign up at the front desk.

• Ice cream social: Brentwood at Niles will treat seniors to a monthly Ice Cream Social. The January Ice Cream Social will take place at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 29.
