Two injured in snowmobile accident

PORTER TOWNSHIP — Two Union residents were injured in a snowmobile accident on M-217 in Porter Township Wednesday, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Police were dispatched to M-217 north of Wayne Street at 8:17 p.m. Wednesday after Eric Black, 42, of Union, lost control of his sled while traveling north in a field east of the highway.
Black was thrown from his sled with possible injuries to his leg. His passenger, Kyia Black, 18, also had possible injuries to her wrist.
Both were transported to Elkhart General Hospital.
Intoxicants were not a factor.
The Porter Fire Department and Porter Ambulance assisted at the scene.
