Monte Marbach, of Adamsville

Monte G. Marbach, 88, of Adamsville, Michigan, passed to his rest Dec. 19, 2017, at Elkhart Hospice House, after an illness.

He was born April 22, 1929, in Union Township, Adams County, Indiana, to Fred and Marie (Brodbeck) Marbach.

Monte graduated from Decatur (Indiana) Junior-Senior High School in 1947 and from Purdue University in 1951.

In June of 1951, he enlisted and honorably served two years in the U.S. Army. Monte retired after 35 years from Bendix Corporation.

On Sept. 17, 1955, in Chicago, Monte married Shirley Martin, who preceded him in death on March 16, 2017.

He is survived by a son, Chris (Sara) Marbach; and four grandsons, Gregory, Andrew, Matthew and Nicholas all of Adamsville. He is also survived by two brothers, Merritt of Houston, Texas and Terry (Connie) of Columbus, Indiana.

He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, in Edwardsburg.

Monte thanks his family, friends, church, high school classmates and especially his wife, Shirley, for making his life an enjoyable journey.

In keeping with Monte’s wishes, he will be remembered privately.

The Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg, is entrusted with the arrangements.
