RICHLAND — The Dowagiac wrestling team finished third at the Gull Lake Blue Devil Invitational Saturday.

The Chieftains were 3-2 on the day, having defeated Schoolcraft 42-42 on criteria, Michigan Center 51-29 and Kalamazoo Loy Norrix 44-27, while losing to Battle Creek Harper Creek 48-30 and to Lawton 48-30.

Kody Walker (119) and Justin Lyle (171/189) went 5-0 on the day for the Chieftains.

Posting 4-1 records were Lamberto Paredes (16( and Dylan Anderson (215).

Brandywine wrestling

CARO — The Brandywine wrestling team finished ninth at the Caro Invitational on Saturday.

Host Caro easily won the individual format tournament, with 175 points. Imlay City was second, with 155 points.

The Bobcats’ Hunter Heath (119), Corbin Eckenberger (152) and Grant Lerner (189) all finished third.
