Ronald L. Lott, of Berrien Springs

Ronald Leroy Lott, 48, formerly of Niles, died peacefully at 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7, 2017, at his home in Berrien Springs, following an extended illness.
He was born on Dec. 26, 1968, in South Bend, Indiana, to Arthur L. and Judy Rae (Grounds) Lott. He attended Niles Community Schools, and was employed for several years at Gateway Industries in Berrien Springs. He has lived in this area all of his life.
Ron was raised in the Church of God — Full Gospel in Niles under the leadership of his uncle, the late Pastor Morton Hempel. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether working in the yard or hunting and fishing in the area with his family. He also enjoyed collecting scrap for recycling, but his greatest joy was his family, and especially his nieces and nephews.
Surviving family includes his siblings, Kelly Muniz, Daniel Lott, and Walter Lott, all of Elkhart, Indiana, Timothy Lott of Berrien Springs, and Stephanie (Ann) Cramer of Goshen, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Judy Lott; and by a niece.
Services for Ronald Lott will be at 4 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at the Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home, 615 E. Main St., Niles, with Pastor Dennis Carpenter of the Church of God — Full Gospel officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
