NILES — Visiting Edwardsburg outscored Niles 38-8 in the first half en route to a 52-31 victory in the season opener for both girls basketball teams.

Kaitlyn Zarycki scored a game-high 35 points to lead the Eddies.

Lajan Mitchell had 12 points for the Vikings.
