BUCHANAN — Four area runners qualified for the state finals by finishing in the top 15 at the Division 2 Regional Cross Country Meet hosted at RedBud MX on Saturday.

Dowagiac’s Shawn Little led the way with a fifth-place finish in the Division 2 boys race.

Little posted a time of 17:09.

Edwardsburg’s Jack Leman finished 10th overall with a time of 17:26.

In the girls race, Edwardsburg’s Cameron Cleveland finished 10th and Niles’ Kaylee Thompson 11th respectively.

Cleveland ran a time of 20:29 and Thompson 20:31.

Holland Christian was the girls team champion with 75 points. Niles was seventh with 197 points and Edwardsburg ninth with 210 points.

Zeeland West was the boys champion with 53 points. Niles finished eighth (203), Edwardsburg 14th (284) and Dowagiac did not finish enough runners to post a team score.
