EDWARDSBURG — The Edwardsburg soccer team had little trouble advancing to the Division 2 district semifinals as it blanked Three Rivers 6-0 Tuesday.

The Eddies (15-2-3) scored three goals in each half, including a pair by Ben Kraus.

Despite some excellent Edwardsburg scoring chances, the match was scoreless through the first 20 minutes.

Kraus brought the ball up the end line to just outside the goal when he passed the it to Dylan Hartline who tapped it past Three Rivers keeper Brandon Grafe to give the Eddies the 1-0 advantage.

Kraus made it 2-0 about 10 minutes later before Merick Evans scored with 5:27 remaining in the first-half to give Edwardsburg the three-goal advantage.

Isaac Toms, who assisted on the first Kraus goal, opened second-half scoring in the 49th minute.

Edwardsburg tacked on a pair of goals in the final six minutes of the match as Kraus scored his second off an assist from Evans and Travis Straughn scored off an assist by Anthony Castelluci.
