Rangers remain undefeated in Southwest 10

CASSOPOLIS — The Cassopolis soccer team remains atop the Southwest 10 Conference standings, after beating Bangor 4-2 Monday evening.

The Rangers are now 9-0 in the league and 12-3 overall.

Cassopolis trailed the Vikings 2-0 at halftime, but exploded for four goals in the final 40 minutes.

Lane Francis got the Rangers on the board first, off an assist by Kiambu Gary.

Josh Canterbury tied the score at 2-2 on a goal in the 56th minute, off the assist from T.J. Gless.

Gary then scored back-to-back goals in the 62nd and 77th minutes to give Cassopolis the victory.

The Rangers outshot Bangor 9-8, with Jason Sopaseuth being credited with six saves.

Last Thursday, the Rangers blanked Eau Claire 8-0.

Cassopolis led 6-0 at halftime on goals by Kalob Anderson, Gary, Canterbury, Zak Friske, Brett Williams and Stephan Christopher.

Cacy May and Williams had the second-half goals for the Rangers.

Eian Forrest and Gary (2) had the assists for Cassopolis.
