The Dowagiac volleyball team got back on track as it defeated Allegan in five sets at the Dowagiac Middle School Thursday.
The Chieftains defeated the Tigers 25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 24-26 and 15-2 to square its Wolverine Conference record at 1-1.
“It was a great match to show what we needed to work on and how we were able accomplish our revisions during the games so quickly,” said Dowagiac coach Rachel Zeider. “It took us some time at first, but the girls never gave up. We lost focus a little bit but we’re able to pull it back in on game three to take a lead.”
Taylore Froehlich finished the night with 13 kills, 32 digs and a pair of aces.
Dowagiac also got nine kills from Kelsey Crocker and six kills from Jessica Davis.
Kassidy Binns had 21 kills, 20 assists and eight aces, while Natalie Davis finished with 58 digs and four aces.
Dowagiac will travel to Edwardsburg for a key Wolverine Conference match Thursday.
