Arnold Doberstein, of Dowagiac, celebrated his 98th birthday on Aug. 28.

An open house will take place at his daughter’s house on Sept. 23 in honor of his birthday, his wife Elma’s 94th birthday and their 75th wedding anniversary.

Their children are Rose Kelly, of Dowagiac and Linda (John) Wanberg, of Niles. They have four grandchildren, John (Rosie) Kelly, Barbara Chandler, Patrick Kelly, Tanya Burkowitz; step-grandchildren, Angie (Jim) Stevenot, Tim (Sherri) Wanberg; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Arnold is now retired.
