Carl Newsom, of Buchanan

Carl Newsom, 90, of Buchanan, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, at home.

He was born Nov. 29, 1926, in Buchanan to the late Guy and Sarah Newsom. In 1949, Carl married Donna Hellwig.

Carl is survived by his wife of 68 years, Donna; sons, David Newsom, Donald (Maureen) Newsom; daughter, Kyla (Rudy) Lund; daughter-in-law, Mari (Michele) Newsom; grandchildren, Joshua (Wendy) Newsom, Zack (Anika) Lund, Brian Newsom, Sarah (Cory) Fitzpatrick, Erin (Jessica Centa) Newsom, Becky (Steven) Newsom, Pat Newsom, Eric Newsom; great-grandchildren, Devin, Cody, Jake, Abby, Madalynn and Kaylie.

He is preceded in passing by his parents, Guy and Sarah; son, Mark Newsom; brothers, Chester, Larry, Delvin, Stanley; and sister, Ellen.

A funeral service for Carl will be held at Noon on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017 at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
