Some beautiful summertime weather made the perfect pairing for the selection of wines and beers served on the lawn of the Blackmond farm Saturday, during the sixth annual Wine and Beer Tasting Event. Hundreds of people attended the fundraiser, which was organized by the Lee Memorial Foundation, the fundraising arm of Dowagiac’s Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital. In addition to sampling the wares of a dozen area wineries and breweries, visitors enjoyed live music and had a chance to win a variety of high value prizes that organizers raffled off that evening. All proceeds from the event will go toward improvements to the local hospital’s oncology department.
