SOUTH BEND — The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians’ Four Winds Casinos recently announced the dates for four upcoming job fairs, designed to streamline the application process for the expected 1,200 new hires for the South Bend property.
At each job fair, human resources staff from Four Winds will be on hand to provide information on all positions and to accept applications.
Many of the available postings will be hospitality positions in food and beverage for the new property’s five restaurants and three bars, said Frank Freedman, chief operating officer of Four Winds Casinos. Traditional casino positions will also be needed.
The first job fair takes place from 10 am. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at Jackson Middle School 5001 Miami St., South Bend.
Other job fair dates from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Four Winds Field; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Jackson Middle School; and 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Century Center.
Applicants are encouraged to regularly visit the Four Winds website, fourwindscasino.com, and look under employment for an ongoing list of current postings.
Freedman added construction on Four Winds Casino South Bend has passed the halfway point, and is on target to be completed in early 2018. It will have 175,000 square feet and include 1,800 slot machines, five restaurants, a coffee shop, three bars, a retail outlet, and approximately 4,500 parking spaces including an enclosed parking structure.
To date, more than 300 construction workers have been hired. More information is available at pokagonband-nsn.gov.
