Sharon Rose Johnson, 51, of Niles, died at 7:49 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in Saint Joseph.

She was born Sept. 13, 1965, in South Bend, Indiana, to Douglas and Mary (Thompson) Kelly.

She graduated from Niles High School, and has lived here all of her life. She was employed for many years at Jason Industries in Elkhart, Indiana, and more recently was employed at Sampson Fiberglass in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Sharon enjoyed fishing, playing cards and bingo, and visiting casinos. But, her greatest joy was spending time with her family, including her husband and children, and especially her grandchildren.

On Oct. 31, 1995, she married Asa Alvin Johnson Jr. Together they celebrated the 37th anniversary of their relationship.

Surviving family includes her husband, Asa, and their children, Asa A. III (Kelli Matthews) Johnson of Niles, Samantha Kay Johnson of Niles and Angela Janine (Cheryl Mastermen) Johnson of Niles; grandchildren Mable DeWitt Johnson, Asa A. Johnson IV, Joshua DeWitt Jr., and Ayden Johnson; Sharon’s father, Douglas Kelly of Niles; and brothers James Kelly and Michael Kelly, both of Niles.

Services for Sharon Johnson will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Halbritter-Wickens Funeral Home in Niles, with Pastor Bradley Heiple of Hope Community Church officiating. halbritterfunerals.com
