Sharron R. Woods, 61, of Dowagiac, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

She was born Jan. 8, 1956, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Jim Henry and Mary Catherine (Shaw) Woods.

A graduate of Dowagiac High School, Sharron — always being a hard worker — went on to work at various factories, TAFCO Industries being one of them, for an extended time. She also worked in nursing homes and various hotels.

Sharron was a strong, single mother who was devoted to raising her children. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding everyone. Sharron will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, infectious smile and, mostly, her love of family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents and a nephew, Brent LaTay Woods.

Sharron is survived by her children, Nathaniel (Angie) Woods of Cassopolis and Sharon (Coco) Woods of Mishawaka; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brothers, Eric Woods of Nashville, Jeffrey Woods of Buchanan, Michael (Nettie) Woods of Niles, Cedriz Woods of Niles, Kevin Woods of Niles and Christopher (Alicia) Woods of Kalamazoo; three sisters, Karen Elaine (Sam) Chase of Mishawaka, Delphia Rochelle Woods of South Bend and Denise (Neicey) Triplett of Indianapolis; her god-daughters, Mi’keya Briggs of South Bend and Rochelle and Rosemary Grady; her longtime loving special friend, Robert Sims; and a hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and those whose lives she has touched.

Funeral services will be hosted at noon Friday, June 2, 2017, at Second Baptist Church in Dowagiac, with a time of visitation for an hour prior. Committal services will be hosted in Riverside Cemetery.
