Vicksburg sweeps Dowagiac at Notre Dame

NOTRE DAME — Host Dowagiac was held to just three hits in a Wolverine Conference doubleheader loss to Vicksburg at the University of Notre Dame’s Eck Stadium Monday.
The Bulldogs won 5-0 and 10-0. The second game lasted six innings.
Brenden Lovell tossed a two-hitter with seven strikeouts in the opening game for Vicksburg.
Duan Simpson and Austin Jones both singled for the Chieftains.
Brenden Dudley started and took the loss for Dowagiac. Mack Charles and Adrien Bucha-Moore also took the mound for the Chieftains.
In the nightcap, Ryan Morgan and Josh Povlock combined on a one-hitter with eight strikeouts. Morgan worked the first four innings to earn the victory.
Charles did not get out of the first inning and took the loss. Ellijah Williams and Brandon Felthouse also pitched for the Chieftains.
Dowagiac’s lone hit was a double by Bucha-Moore.
The Chieftains travel to Paw Paw for a Wolverine Conference doubleheader Thursday.
